Real Bar Mitzvahs: A Movie Theme

Inspired by his love of old Hollywood flicks, the guest of honor decided on a movie theme complete with movie posters and an old-fashioned theater marquee.

Bouquets of white roses brightened up the table in front of the seating chart.
A guest book table was set up in the entryway. Alongside was an over-the-top director‘s sign and an ornate vase filled with fresh roses and orchids in rich fall hues.
Tables were named after some of the guest of honor‘s favorite movies, including The Godfather, Some Like It Hot, Citizen Kane, Star Wars, and North by Northwest.
Elegant arrangements of fresh fall flowers, including orchids, lilies, and fiddlehead ferns, were placed throughout the house. A vase of red dahlias greeted guests at the entryway.
Light blue linens added a punch of color to the black-and-white, movie-inspired decor.
The seating chart was actually an oversized poster designed to resemble a movie theater marquee.
Guests nibbled on gingerbread men iced with Jon‘s name in blue.
Movie reels, filmstrips, and director‘s signs decorated the dessert table. The spreads included fresh fruit, cookies, chocolates, and tarts, just to name a few.
There were tons of sweets to celebrate this party. A cookie table featured gingerbread men, fruit-filled pastries, and other yummy treats.
